 Louis W. Pierro is a partner at Compson, Eannace & Pierro, PLLC, and concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Business Succession Planning and Elder Law. Mr. Pierro has Chaired the Estate Planning Committee and the Committee on Taxation of the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, and its Elder Law Section. He is currently Legislative Liaison for the Elder Law Section and a member of its Executive Committee.
Mr. Pierro has been selected to the SuperLawyers, Best Lawyers in America, the Best Lawyers in New York and he has maintained an AV rating from the Martindale Hubbell since 1995. He served as an adjunct professor at Siena College, where he lectured on Estate Planning from 1987-1995, and has lectured extensively on Estate Planning and Elder Law, including national programs such as the New York University Tax Institute and Wealth Counsel National Study Group, numerous state bar programs, and regional programs for the American Institute of CPA’s, the Investment Management Association, New York City Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors, and others.
Mr. Pierro currently serves as President of the Colonie Youth Foundation and has served as a Director of the Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York, Inc.; Senior Services of Albany, Inc.; Alzheimer’s Association of Northeast New York and McAuley Residence. He is also a member of the Albany County Bar Association (Chair, Elder Law Committee 1993-1998), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the American Bar Association, Probate and Trust Section. Mr. Pierro is the founder and Director of Elder Counsel, a national company providing software and services to attorneys across the country. A graduate of Lehigh University and Albany Law School, Mr. Pierro was admitted to the New York State Bar in January, 1984, and is licensed to practice in all New York State Courts, the US Supreme Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Pierro maintains an affiliate firm, Pierro Law Group, with offices located in Albany, NY and New York City. |
